Francesco Ricci, known to law enforcement as one of the "pezzotto specialists" active in eastern Naples, has returned to prison. On Saturday morning, the State Police executed an arrest warrant against him, serving concurrent sentences, bringing to an end a long legal case related to counterfeiting and receiving stolen goods.

Ricci, a Neapolitan resident of Ponticelli, was located by Mobile Squad officers who executed the order issued on December 9, 2025, by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples – Criminal Enforcement Office. According to the judicial authorities, the man will serve a total sentence of 5 years and 2 months in prison.

When the police arrived, Ricci offered no resistance and was easily escorted to the police station for the usual formalities. After completing the bureaucratic procedures, he was admitted to Poggioreale prison, where he will serve his entire sentence.

The charges, which were developed over the course of several investigations, concern counterfeiting and receiving stolen goods, an illicit sector that has been a major source of revenue for crime in the eastern suburbs of the city for years. Ricci's arrest is part of ongoing operations by the State Police to combat the illegal market for pirate transmission devices and systems, commonly known as "pezzotti."

With the execution of the order, the man's legal case now enters its final phase: Ricci will remain in prison for a period of just over five years, temporarily putting an end to his criminal activity.
