Naples – A scene of unprecedented violence shook the Rione Alto neighborhood late yesterday afternoon. On Via Onofrio Fragnito, a peaceful stroll turned into a nightmare for an elderly woman.
A 17-year-old boy on a scooter pulled up alongside her and, with cold determination, snatched her purse. The woman, desperate to resist, was dragged several meters across the asphalt before his grip finally gave way.

Witnessing the scene, however, was a police officer from the Naples Mobile Unit, who was off duty at the time. Without a second thought, the officer alerted the Police Headquarters Operations Room and set off in pursuit of the fugitive, who was attempting to escape through the neighborhood streets. His quick thinking and courage were decisive.
The chase ended shortly thereafter, thanks in part to the timely arrival of a patrol car from the General Prevention Office. The officers, guided by their colleague's directions, apprehended the 17-year-old, putting an end to his escape. The young man was arrested for attempted robbery, while the elderly woman, visibly in shock but fortunately not in serious condition, was able to get her purse back.

Reading this article made me feel very worried for the woman who suffered this violence. It's truly sad that there are such violent youths in our neighborhood. We hope the situation improves soon and there's more safety.
