Naples – A wave of outrage has swept through the Neapolitan youth football community following an incident of sexism and vulgarity that surfaced on social media following a friendly match between the Napoli Under-17 women's team and the Don Guanella Under-14/15 men's team.

Some players from the men's team have posted images from the locker room on Instagram Stories, accompanied by vulgar and sexist comments and hashtags, including #nondovevatevincere, #tornateafareleballerine, #leavetepresepe***ane, and #vogliamoirebraseni, aimed at the defeated young athletes.

The reaction was swift. A leader of the women's team publicly denounced the incident, calling it a "generational and social failure" and emphasizing that "we lose in life even before we lose in sport."

A parent of the athletes also expressed their outrage, calling the situation "truly unpleasant" and calling for action to be taken against both the kids and the club, which "failed to protect a situation like this."

Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli spoke out in firm condemnation: "We are facing a moral decline that has nothing to do with the values of sport. These messages, which the young people have even boasted about on social media, are not mere joking, but manifestations of unacceptable sexism that we cannot allow to be tolerated in an educational environment like sports. It is an insult to all women and to all those who believe in clean, value-based politics."

Borrelli urgently calls for immediate and exemplary disciplinary action from the Don Guanella club and the federal bodies, particularly the FIGC.

"The action must not be limited to simple sanctions," the parliamentarian continues, "but must include the establishment of a mandatory training and awareness program for young athletes, focused on sporting ethics, respect, and gender equality. Furthermore, an official and public apology is expected from the club and the families of the young athletes to the offended athletes and their loved ones."

"My solidarity goes out to the athletes, their coaches, and their families," Borrelli concludes. "It's time to send a strong signal: vulgarity and sexism have no place on the playing field. We will fight to ensure this incident doesn't go unpunished and serves as a warning for the future."
