In Acerra, a 46-year-old woman was arrested yesterday by the State Police on charges of assaulting healthcare workers. The incident occurred Tuesday evening at the Villa dei Fiori clinic, where the woman and another patient had complained about delays in appointments.
According to the reconstruction by the officers of the local police station, who arrived on the scene after a report of an assault, one of the two first verbally abused and then physically attacked a doctor.
Thanks to surveillance camera footage, the police were able to confirm the circumstances of the incident and proceed with the arrest, as required by current legislation. The incident once again raises the issue of the safety of healthcare professionals and the management of waiting patients.
