State Police continue extraordinary checks in Acerra to combat illegal possession of weapons. Overnight, a patrol by the city police station concluded with the arrest of a 25-year-old Neapolitan man, Francesco Del Giudice, already known to law enforcement, who was caught with an illegal pistol and ammunition.
According to the reconstruction, the officers were conducting a patrol on Via Umberto Nobile when they noticed a car that, upon seeing the patrol car, sped away. The suspicious behavior prompted the officers to follow it and stop it after a few dozen meters, proceeding to identify the driver.
During the vehicle search, officers found an unserialized 8mm revolver, loaded with nine rounds of ammunition, hidden under the passenger seat. The weapon and ammunition were immediately seized for subsequent ballistic tests.
For these reasons, the 25-year-old was arrested and charged with carrying a concealed firearm and ammunition in a public place. The young man was handed over to the competent judicial authorities, who will assess the appropriate precautionary measures.
His position is now being examined by magistrates, while the extraordinary operations organized by the Naples Police Headquarters to curb the circulation of illegal weapons in the hinterland continue.
