Afragola – In the early afternoon of Christmas, around 1:30 PM, a tragedy nearly occurred on the Afragola overpass, heading towards Casalnuovo, near the exit of the Le Porte di Napoli shopping center. A man in obvious distress was spotted by a patrol of security guards from a Neapolitan security firm patrolling the area.
Security guard Carlo Buonomo intervened with great composure, managing to calm and reassure the man and averting the worst. Simultaneously, the competent authorities were alerted through the security company's operations center.
Traffic police and firefighters quickly arrived on the scene, securing the area and recovering the man. To enable their intervention, firefighters had to cut the side gate of the overpass. A patrol car also arrived later.

During the rescue operations, the man's sister also arrived, feeling ill due to the strong emotional shock and was treated by a second ambulance.
"This intervention demonstrates once again how attention, timeliness, and collaboration between private security, law enforcement, and emergency services can make a difference and save a life," emphasized Giuseppe Alviti, president of Angpg, security manager, and professional trainer for law enforcement and subsidiary and complementary security.

Yes, it's fair to say that the intervention was timely, but the people involved also need support after an experience like this, not just physical but also emotional.
I agree with you, but sometimes situations are complicated and you can't predict everything. The guards' promptness was crucial in preventing the worst.
It was an action that saved a life, and that's important. But I don't understand why the fence needed to be cut. Perhaps it could have been done differently? Safety must always be the priority.
