According to the reconstruction provided by the victim himself to the local police station, two unidentified individuals, their faces hidden by full-face helmets, approached him while he was on the street.
The incident was swift and brutal: without exchanging a word, one of the two men pulled out a firearm and fired two shots, both hitting the man in the legs. The two attackers then disappeared, leaving the injured man on the ground. The man's partner noticed the dramatic scene and administered first aid, helping him and rushing him to the San Leonardo Hospital in Castellammare di Stabia.
Fortunately, the forty-five-year-old's condition is not life-threatening. Paramedics confirmed gunshot wounds to his legs, but initial reports suggest his condition is not life-threatening. He is hospitalized for the necessary treatment and tests.
Investigators from the Torre Annunziata police station, led by the Deputy Chief of Police, are now working to reconstruct the exact sequence of events and determine the identity and motive of the attackers. Investigators are considering a wide range of possible causes, from Camorra-related settling of scores—in an area that is unfortunately often the scene of similar incidents—to personal disputes or extortion.
