Alessandro Siani, the undisputed master of Italian comedy, returns to the stage with a new show that promises to leave its mark: "Fake News," written, directed, and performed by the artist himself. Following the triumph of "Fiesta," which celebrated twenty years of his career with impressive numbers, Siani now tackles a topic that profoundly impacts everyone's lives: misinformation.
The show, also inspired by the recent television experience “Off Line” on Amazon Prime, is presented as a theatrical monologue full of satire, irony and moments of profound reflection.
The debut of "Fake News" is already a phenomenon: in Naples, over 30.000 tickets were sold, with 36 performances in just 30 days—often two shows in the same day. Public demand has prompted the addition of new dates and the tripling of shows in Bari, Rome, Bologna, Milan, and Avellino, while in Zurich, the number of dates has been doubled. This success confirms Siani as one of the most anticipated artists of the Italian theater season.
"We live immersed in a constant stream of fake news that influences our behavior, relationships, and daily choices," said Siani, explaining the genesis of the show. "Fake News" explores the contradictions of our time, intertwined with social media, television news, and everyday conversations, showing how misinformation has now insinuated itself into the fabric of society, even influencing personal relationships.
The monologue reveals the myriad nuances of everyday lies: from online scams to romantic infidelity, from the illusion of artificial intelligence to low-cost vacation deals. Siani doesn't limit himself to comedy: his sharp perspective also encompasses current affairs and politics, alternating satire and reflection in a compelling flow that keeps the audience glued to the stage.
“Fake News” is Alessandro Siani’s new artistic chapter, which returns to make us laugh and reflect on one of the most complex phenomena of our time, in the place where fiction becomes reality: the theatre.

I find the show very interesting, but I'm not sure if satire is always effective. Misinformation is a significant topic, and I hope Siani manages to address it in a balanced way that isn't too harsh on the audience.
