Milan – The Milan Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into journalist and television host Alfonso Signorini. The filing, deemed a necessary step, follows the complaint filed by former Big Brother contestant Antonio Medugno, who requested charges of sexual assault and extortion.
The complaint, filed on December 24, is now being examined by Public Prosecutor Letizia Mannella, head of the Fifth Department of the Milan Public Prosecutor's Office, responsible for the protection of vulnerable groups. Medugno is being assisted by lawyers Cristina Morrone and Giuseppe Pipicella. The alleged crimes have already been registered in the case file.
Prosecutor Mannella, along with her colleague Alessandro Gobbis, is also coordinating the investigation into Fabrizio Corona's alleged involvement in revenge porn. The investigation was initiated based on a complaint filed by Signorini himself. It was as part of this latest investigation that photos, videos, and conversations were seized, material that—according to reports—prompted Medugno to file his complaint.
Over the past few weeks, Corona, through the web format Falsissimo, accused Signorini of running an alleged "system" of sexual favors requested from Big Brother contestants or aspiring contestants. The host denied these accusations, calling them a "slanderous and defamatory" campaign.
Medugno's initiative may not be an isolated one. Currently, former Big Brother VIP contestant Gianluca Costantino, assisted by lawyer Leonardo D'Erasmo, is also reportedly considering filing a similar complaint.

Meanwhile, Alfonso Signorini has decided to temporarily suspend his professional commitments with Mediaset to defend himself against the accusations. This decision has been welcomed by the Cologno Monzese-based company, which reiterated its commitment to combating the dissemination of reports deemed defamatory and called on all employees to strictly adhere to its code of ethics.
Fabrizio Corona's response quickly arrived, in a lengthy video posted on his social media channels. "What a strange country Italy is: when the alarm goes off, they don't go to check if anyone's home, but run to turn it off," the former photographer stated, promising further revelations starting in January and claiming to have chats, documents, and evidence to back up his claims.
Codacons also intervened in the case, deeming the host's self-suspension alone insufficient. According to the consumer association, given the seriousness of the reports that have emerged, it would be necessary to suspend the entire broadcast of the new season of Big Brother as a precaution until the facts are fully clarified and the contestant selection procedures are verified.
Codacons also filed a complaint with the Italian Competition Authority (AGCM) and the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM), reporting possible violations of the principles of transparency, fairness, and contractual good faith, and requesting the opening of investigations into unfair commercial practices and consumer protection.

This is a very serious matter involving a public figure like Signorini. We hope the truth comes out and the appropriate measures are taken. The issue of violence must always be considered very carefully and must not be underestimated.
