Ariano Irpino – A dream wedding party turned into a dramatic fire on the night between Saturday and Sunday, inside the Kristall Hotel and Restaurant in Ariano Irpino.
At the center of the incident was a wedding cake surrounded by fireworks, whose sparks started a blaze that within minutes engulfed the hall, devastating the venue and sowing panic among the more than one hundred guests.
The incident occurred around midnight, during the most anticipated moment of the evening: the cutting of the cake. According to the reconstruction, the newlyweds had organized a fireworks display to make the ceremony unforgettable.
However, the light fountains exceeded all safety expectations. The flames, which quickly spread, reached the false ceiling and the curtains, enveloping the room in a thick column of smoke.
Amid the general confusion, the groom attempted to put out the fire but was engulfed in flames. The man, whose identity has not been released, was rushed to Frangipane Hospital in Ariano Irpino, where he was admitted for second-degree burns to his face and hands.
Some guests suffered minor smoke intoxication and were treated in the emergency room, but none of their lives are in danger.
The fire brigade teams from the Grottaminarda detachment intervened on site and put out the fire after an hour of work, as did the Carabinieri from the Ariano Irpino Company, who began investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics and ascertain any responsibilities.
The damage to the structure is extensive: the hall is partially destroyed, with furniture, curtains and electrical systems seriously damaged.
The bride and guests, still in shock, were assisted by hotel staff, who promptly managed the evacuation. The dream of a fairytale wedding ended in a night of fear, with only one bitter certainty: no setting is risk-free, especially when fire reigns supreme.

Let's stop exaggerating, it only creates more discomfort for those who unfortunately have had an accident! As usual in Italy, everything is blown out of proportion, instead of encouraging the unfortunate.
