The Arzano local police have launched a series of targeted checks on the city's roads in preparation for the Christmas holidays, aiming to combat traffic violations and ensure traffic safety.
The operation, coordinated by Colonel Biagio Chiariello—who also serves as commander of the Caserta provincial police—involved the checks of over 70 vehicles on the main roads of the municipality. Officers focused their attention on illegal parking and uninsured vehicles, phenomena that compromise traffic flow and road safety.
The results of the checks are significant: 47 vehicles were fined, while six cars and scooters were seized for lack of insurance. In some cases, officers also revoked driving licenses following serious traffic violations.
Reduced staff but intensified activity
The local police command reports that enforcement is continuing despite operational difficulties. "The fight is unequal," explain the officers, who are operating with a staff reduced to less than 50 percent of their planned capacity, having to cope with multiple institutional obligations.
Despite staffing shortages, checks will continue in the coming weeks, during a period characterized by increased traffic on city streets. The goal remains to ensure compliance with regulations and the safety of all road users during the holidays.
