The incident occurred a few days ago, when the man approached the Christmas tree set up in the town square and, for no apparent reason, began cutting strings of lights and decorations, causing damage to the display.

Arzano local police, led by Commander Biagio Chiariello, responded to the scene and immediately observed the act of vandalism. Shortly afterward, the perpetrator, Sergio Martino, a convicted felon, was located and had no choice but to admit his guilt, confessing to officers that he had damaged the tree.

The man is already known to law enforcement: he had previously been reported by local police for threats, insults, and refusal to provide his personal details, as well as for episodes of violence, including attempted stabbings of several passers-by.

Following the formal procedures, the individual was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Naples North on charges of damage. Further evaluations of his overall position are ongoing.

It's incredible how someone can do such terrible things for no good reason. Damaging a Christmas tree is truly shameful, especially during the holiday season. Let's hope justice takes its course and the man learns from his actions.
