Armed van on Highway 655 robbery involving explosives worth €300

A carefully planned robbery, executed with the precision of a military operation. This afternoon, Thursday, December 11, a commando of bandits pulled off a spectacular robbery of an armored van on State Road 655, the arterial road connecting Foggia to Candela. The loot was worth approximately €300 in cash.

The attack began when the criminals blocked the Cosmopol armored vehicle by strategically positioning a vehicle on the roadway. The two security guards on board immediately found themselves in the crosshairs of the robbers' firearms, who fired several shots into the air to intimidate and discourage any resistance.

The most spectacular part of the crime was the use of explosives to breach the armored van. This technique requires specific skills and demonstrates the gang's level of preparation. Despite the violence of the attack and the use of weapons and explosives, fortunately, no injuries were reported among the security guards.

After stealing the money stored inside the vehicle, the bandits fled without a trace. The Foggia Police Headquarters' Flying Squad is investigating the incident, launching a search for the perpetrators and gathering any witness statements and surveillance footage from the area.

The episode brings attention to the phenomenon of armored vehicle robberies in Puglia, one of the regions where this type of crime is committed most frequently, often in increasingly audacious and violent ways.
