Benevento – The Benevento Financial Police conducted a series of inspections in the Sannio area to combat the illegal trade and manufacture of fireworks, concluding the operation with two reports and the seizure of approximately 60 kilos of pyrotechnic material.

Officers from the Solopaca Police Station inspected a business in Limatola, where they found approximately 5.400 fireworks displays. The owner did not possess the required public safety license to sell explosives and was therefore reported to the Benevento Prosecutor's Office for illegal sale of explosives. The entire quantity, containing approximately 17 kilograms of explosives, was seized and handed over to a specialized company for destruction.

During the same operation, the Benevento Group's Mobile Unit located and seized approximately 2.600 homemade fireworks at a storage facility adjacent to a man's home in Pago Veiano. An expert assessment confirmed that the material, approximately 15 kilograms, contained a high explosive content. During the search, an additional 28 kilograms of fireworks ready for sale were also found. The owner was charged with the illegal manufacture and possession of explosive materials.

The operation demonstrates the Guardia di Finanza's commitment to ensuring public safety, especially during the Christmas holidays, by combating the clandestine sale and production of illegal firecrackers.

The article reports an important fact regarding the Guardia di Finanza's checks. But I wonder whether the checks are effective or just a temporary measure. More attention is needed on these issues; public safety is fundamental.
