Naples, raid in Barra: 10 counterfeit euros and prohibited "firecrackers" in a bunker-like warehouse.

A 61-year-old man was arrested for "artfully" counterfeited 20- and 50-euro notes, 15 homemade explosive devices, and 20 kilos of illegal fireworks. Six people were reported, and Carabinieri conducted extensive checks in the eastern part of the capital.

Napoli – Carabinieri raid in the neighborhood BarraIn the eastern part of the city, officers from the Poggioreale company and the Naples mobile unit discovered a veritable cache of counterfeit banknotes and illegal firecrackers. Pietro Musco, 61, a local man already known to law enforcement, was arrested.

In the premises he used, which had been converted into a logistics base, the Carabinieri found over €10 in counterfeit €50 and €20 bills. These were highly crafted counterfeits, capable—according to investigators—of fooling even the most expert observer.

The search also seized 15 improvised explosive devices and 20 kilos of illicit fireworks, ready to be sold on the black market ahead of the holidays. Musco was arrested and is under house arrest, awaiting trial.

The overall toll of the operation is heavy: six people have been reported at large. A 37-year-old man faces charges of possession of narcotics with intent to sell, while a 41-year-old is accused of electricity theft: he allegedly supplied electricity to his supermarket without charge using an illegal connection.

Two other people were reported for evading arrest and one for driving without a license. Traffic checks were also carried out, with 16 fines issued for traffic violations.

The Carabinieri also raided several local businesses. During the checks, they seized 45 kilos of unregulated food and issued fines totaling €5.
