Maddaloni – He was driving with his headlights off during the Christmas holidays, perhaps hoping to go unnoticed in the city traffic. But it was precisely that strange maneuver that caught the attention of the officers at the Maddaloni Police Station, who were engaged in a special checkpoint program ordered by the Caserta Police Headquarters.
After stopping the small car for a routine check, the Flying Squad officers immediately noticed the driver's excessive nervousness. This suspicion prompted the officers to search the vehicle, uncovering a veritable explosive cargo: dozens of pyrotechnic devices stacked in the trunk without any safety measures, ready to be distributed illegally.
Technical inspections confirmed the seriousness of the situation. The man was carrying over 25 kilograms of explosive material, including several batteries of high-grade fireworks, the possession of which requires specific licenses that the driver did not possess. The entire load was seized and handed over to a specialized company for safekeeping.
The man faces severe legal consequences, having been charged at large with illegal possession and trafficking of explosives. In addition to the seizure, the police immediately revoked his driving license for violations related to the transportation of dangerous goods. He has also been issued a mandatory expulsion order, banning him from returning to the municipality of Maddaloni.
