Caivano – Trying to keep his cool when faced with the Carabinieri's raised patrol wasn't enough. Alessio Savanelli, a 25-year-old originally from Sassuolo but already known to local law enforcement, was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The operation began during a routine patrol of the area conducted by the Caivano Company. During a checkpoint, the Carabinieri ordered the car driven by the young man to stop. The driver's behavior must have aroused suspicion, and they decided to investigate further by conducting a vehicle search.
Inside the vehicle, 29 doses of hashish were discovered, pre-packaged and ready to be distributed on the local illegal market. Along with the drugs, officers found and seized €175 in small denomination bills, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing in the previous hours.
After the usual formalities at the police station, the 25-year-old was placed under house arrest at his home, where he will remain pending trial by the judicial authorities.
