Naples is preparing to lock down nightlife areas and major concert venues for the upcoming New Year's Eve. In anticipation of the massive influx of residents and tourists expected on Wednesday, December 31st, the Police Headquarters has implemented a strict security protocol to prevent incidents and ensure public order during the widespread events that will enliven the Neapolitan capital.
The control system will focus in particular on the three main entertainment hubs: Piazza del Plebiscito, the heart of the concert, the DJ sets in Piazza Municipio and the Rotonda Diaz on Lungomare Caracciolo, up to the Castel dell'Ovo area where the fireworks display is scheduled.
For the duration of the events, there will be a complete ban on the sale and consumption of beverages in rigid containers. No glass, cans, or Tetra Paks: beverages will be served exclusively in lightweight plastic or paper cups.
A severe crackdown has also been placed on the use of explosive materials. The measure strictly prohibits the introduction and setting off of fireworks, firecrackers, and rockets in all areas of the celebrations. Pepper spray (oleoresin capsicum) is also banned, as it is considered a potential risk to crowd control if misused.
Authorities have already implemented tight controls at entry points. Violators face heavy administrative penalties, with fines ranging from €25 to €500. The Police Headquarters has appealed for the public's full cooperation so that the celebrations can take place in an atmosphere of civil coexistence and complete safety.

I also read the article and agree with the measures. However, there are always those who don't follow the rules, so we'll have to see if everything will go as planned.
The article talks about how Naples is preparing for New Year's Eve and the security measures. I think it's important, but I hope people respect the rules to avoid problems. I don't know if it will work.
