More bloodshed on the streets of Naples. The 60-year-old man seriously injured in a violent car accident that occurred Sunday morning in the Capodichino neighborhood has died.
The victim's heart stopped beating yesterday, after hours of agony, due to the very serious trauma he suffered on impact.
The accident occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Via Cardinale Filomarino, near the intersection with the parish of Santa Maria di Fatima, a busy area near the airport. According to the initial reconstruction carried out by the Local Police, the accident appears complex: the 60-year-old was riding his scooter when, for reasons still under investigation, he collided with a passing car.
A violent impact that caused the motorcyclist to lose control of the vehicle, whose ride ended dramatically against a second car legally parked at the side of the road.
The emergency response team was activated immediately. An ambulance from the Naples 1 Centro Local Health Authority (ASL) arrived on the scene. After stabilizing the man on the street, paramedics arranged for his emergency transfer to the emergency room with a red code.
Despite his hospitalization and the doctors' desperate attempts to save his life, the conditions of the 60-year-old - who had celebrated his birthday just a few days ago, on December 2nd - worsened during the night, leading to his death.
The investigation has been entrusted to the officers of the San Lorenzo Local Police Cot, who intervened at the scene of the tragedy under the leadership of Commander Lucio Sarnacchiaro and the coordination of General Ciro Esposito.
The White Helmets have conducted the necessary technical investigations and collected initial testimonies to reconstruct the exact events. The case is now in the hands of the Public Prosecutor's Office: analysis of the video surveillance footage in the area will be crucial to clarify any liability and the exact maneuver that led to the fatal crash.
