Carinola – A particularly high-profile internal security operation led to the seizure of approximately 400 grams of narcotics inside the Carinola Penitentiary and the arrest of an outsider, a relative of an inmate, who attempted to smuggle the drugs during meetings. This result confirms the high level of vigilance and professionalism of the Penitentiary Police, who are committed daily to combating criminal infiltration attempts within prisons.
The operation, described as complex and multifaceted, was conducted under the direction and coordination of the Department Commander, with the crucial contribution of the interview staff, who were able to identify and neutralize an illicit attempt potentially capable of fueling internal criminal networks and operational tensions.
The Si.NAPPe – National Autonomous Union of Penitentiary Police – expressed heartfelt praise for the operation, emphasizing that Carinola's action represents yet another demonstration of the Corps' effectiveness in upholding the rule of law.
"The Carinola incident is concrete proof of how the Penitentiary Police is an irreplaceable bastion of security and legality," said Si.NAPPe Deputy Secretary General Luigi Vargas. "The results achieved are the fruit of competence, experience, and team spirit, qualities that deserve full recognition and adequate institutional support."
Along the same lines, the National Secretary of Si.NAPPe, Pasquale Gallo, highlighted the preventive value of the operation:
The seizure of such a significant quantity of drugs demonstrates the effectiveness of the control activities carried out daily by our staff. Behind these results are sacrifice, responsibility, and constant operational stress that too often go unnoticed. Our sincere thanks go to the Carinola staff.
Union leader Angelo Di Costanzo also spoke to emphasize the organizational aspect, emphasizing the quality of operational management:
Careful coordination and precise supervision allowed for timely and effective intervention. This demonstrates that when staff are empowered to operate with professionalism and determination, the results are truly remarkable.
Finally, Si.NAPPe hopes that the Penitentiary Administration will formally recognize the exceptional work carried out by the personnel involved, as a concrete sign of concern for a Corps that, often silently and in complex operating conditions, ensures the safety of penitentiaries and the entire community.
