Casavatore – Burglary at the Pevi hardware store: thieves escape with €50 in loot. A city on its knees, experiencing a climate of terror with the advent of the Christmas holidays due to a resurgence of crime that appears unlikely to slow down.
A few days after the sensational attempted break-in robbery of a phone shop on Via Domenico Morelli, a tobacconist's shop in the city's market area also went up in flames. The Pevi hardware store on Viale Guglielmo Marconi was also targeted.
According to initial reports, at least three hooded individuals armed with burglary tools broke into the hardware store, stealing approximately €50 worth of materials.
The thieves operate with ease, mainly at night, without using any sophisticated techniques. They enter by force, sneaking in everywhere, taking advantage of all the time available, perhaps timed by the control "lookout".
Street rats act quickly, turning everything they find upside down and rummaging through everything, looking for money and goods to resell on the black market. These incidents often occur in the run-up to any holiday, a prime time for thefts of all kinds. Law enforcement is investigating the incident.
