Castellammare di Stabia - A quick robbery attempt was ended in minutes thanks to the employees' reaction and the swift intervention of the State Police. This is what happened last night in Castellammare di Stabia, where a 36-year-old man of Neapolitan origins was arrested on charges of attempted robbery.
According to the reconstruction, around closing time, the Operations Room of the Castellammare di Stabia Police Station received a report of a robbery in progress at a tobacconist's in Piazza Principe Umberto. A patrol on patrol quickly reached the indicated business.
When officers arrived, the alleged robber had already been detained by employees: moments earlier, he had burst into the store, threatening the staff and implying he was armed, in an attempt to extract the day's takings. This threat caused moments of tension, but the workers managed to subdue him, preventing his escape.
The police took him into custody and, after carrying out the necessary checks, arrested him for attempted robbery.
