In Cava de' Tirreni, a festive Sunday turned into a nightmare: a man stabbed and killed a woman and jumped into the void, leaving the community stunned and searching for answers about a dark connection that led to this tragedy.
Cava de' Tirreni – A Sunday that was supposed to precede the Christmas holidays turned into an afternoon of blood and despair in Cava de' Tirreni.
Around 4:30 PM today, December 21st, the tranquility of the town of Metelli was shattered by a femicide-suicide that left two dead.
According to an initial reconstruction of the incident, still under investigation by investigators, a 40-year-old man ferociously attacked a woman his age, repeatedly stabbing her with a knife. Immediately after the attack, in what appears to be a sudden fit of rage or a premeditated criminal plot, the man reached the window of the apartment and jumped out.
There was nothing that could be done for the attacker: the impact with the ground was fatal and the 118 emergency workers, who arrived promptly on the scene, could do nothing but confirm his death.
The woman's fate was different and dramatic. Found in a pool of blood inside the apartment, she was stabilized by paramedics and transported to the nearest hospital in critical condition. She arrived in critical condition and died shortly after admission due to the deep wounds she sustained.
Carabinieri from the Nocera Inferiore Territorial Unit responded to the scene of the tragedy. They immediately cordoned off the area and began the necessary forensic investigations to establish the crime scene. Initial investigations reveal a crucial detail: the two protagonists in this tragic incident did not live together.
Although they don't live together, the exact nature of their relationship and the motive that sparked this murderous rampage remain unclear. Investigations are continuing apace to shed light on the shadows of this latest tragedy of madness.

It's truly sad that such terrible things are happening on a day that should be a day of celebration. The community must do something to prevent this violence. I don't understand how anyone could go to this lengths; it's sobering.
