Cava de' Tirreni – Cava dei Tirreni today gathered around the family of Anna Tagliaferri, the forty-year-old woman killed eight days ago by her partner, Diego Di Domenico, who also seriously injured her mother before committing suicide. Mayor Vincenzo Servalli declared the day a day of mourning.

Hundreds of people attended the funeral held in the Cathedral. Tagliaferri, a well-known businesswoman in the city who, with her brothers, owned a historic confectionery business, was highly respected: friends, acquaintances, and numerous customers of the "Pasticceria Tirrena" were also present outside the church.

As the coffin exited, covered with hundreds of white flowers, it was greeted with prolonged applause, amidst a deeply moving atmosphere. The coffin, carried on shoulders, also stopped in front of the family's historic pastry shop before continuing toward the cemetery.

The service was officiated by the Archbishop of Amalfi-Cava de' Tirreni, Monsignor Orazio Soricelli, who in his homily firmly addressed the issue of violence in relationships: "We are here because a life was cut short in a violent, unjust, and absurd way. We are here for Anna."

And again: "True love, the kind the Gospel speaks of, doesn't hurt, doesn't kill, doesn't control, doesn't destroy. Love lets you live." Then the invitation not to stop at the pain: "It's not enough to cry. Anna's memory demands responsibility, concrete choices, truer relationships."

This is truly a tragic situation, and I don't understand how it could get to this point. The community must unite to prevent similar tragedies from happening again. We need more awareness and support.

The news of Anna Tagliaferri's death deeply affected me. It's sad that such brutal situations exist. I hope the family can find strength in this difficult time and that domestic violence is addressed seriously.
