Cicciano – Yet another sudden outburst of anger nearly turned tragic before the terrified eyes of a little girl. In Cicciano, Carabinieri officers from the local station arrested a 50-year-old man accused of threatening and assaulting his 44-year-old wife by throwing a chair at her.
The incident occurred within the confines of their home, in the presence of the couple's youngest daughter, a 10-year-old girl. Only the woman's prompt cry for help allowed the police to intervene quickly, stopping the attack before the situation escalated further.
A history of abuse. From the testimonies gathered from family members and the victim, a disturbing picture emerged: yesterday's incident was merely the latest in a long ordeal. According to investigators' reconstruction, the home concealed a long-running spiral of violence and aggressive behavior. The tense atmosphere was apparently exacerbated by the man's frequent alcohol abuse, which led to increasingly violent arguments.
The order: After the arrest was validated, the 50-year-old was sent to Poggioreale prison. The arrest is part of the protection procedures for victims of domestic violence, aimed at breaking a daily routine of fear and threats, which, in this case, also involved a minor.
A meeting convened by the Prefect of Naples, Michele di Bari, took place this afternoon at the Prefecture to address the Harmont & Blaine dispute. The Italian textile and fashion industry has been navigating difficult waters for years. Harmont & Blaine and the challenge of…
A day of strike action and demonstrations took place today in front of the Harmont & Blaine plant in Caivano, where workers are protesting the announcement of 32 layoffs out of a total workforce of 129. The protest was called by the sector unions Filctem-Cgil and Femca-Cisl, who described it as a sudden decision, lacking any prior consultation.
"We called this strike because we find the layoffs announced by the company unacceptable," says Andrea Pastore of the regional secretariat of Filctem Campania. "We consider it abnormal that a decision of this magnitude could be made overnight, without any consultation with the unions. A company with an international media profile cannot be so superficial in the presence of 32 workers, who represent 25% of the workforce. This is an unacceptable attempt to reduce labor costs. We demand the immediate withdrawal of the layoffs."

This story is very sad and makes us reflect on how serious domestic violence is. It's important that people who experience violence can ask for help without fear of being judged. We hope this woman can find the strength to start over.
