The anti-mafia ban that had halted Edilprime's operations for months has been revoked. The decision was made by the Court of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Preventive Measures Section, which accepted the defense arguments presented by lawyers Vittorio Fucci and Domenico Cesaro, thus allowing the national construction giant to resume operating in the public procurement circuit.
The interdiction order was issued by the Caserta Prefecture at the request of the Naples District Anti-Mafia Directorate and was based on a series of elements that, according to the prosecution, outlined alleged connections between the company and circles linked to the Casalesi clan, specifically the faction historically led by Francesco Bidognetti, known as "Cicciotto 'e Mezzanotte." Investigators were focusing on AG, Edilprime's director, and his brother DG, considered a trusted man of the Casalesi boss.
During the preliminary investigation, the DDA had submitted statements from high-ranking collaborators with justice, including top members of the clan, who described an alleged system of business connections with the Camorra. According to these reconstructions, the company was implicated in financial support for the organization and the manipulation of public procurement contracts, through front men, shell companies, and alleged "support envelopes," including work carried out in the Caserta area. The administrator was also accused of meetings and associations with individuals considered prominent members of organized crime.
The Court, however, deemed the circumstantial evidence underlying the injunction no longer relevant and sufficient, upholding the defense's argument and ordering the injunction's revocation. This decision restores Edilprime to full operational capacity and reopens the company's participation in public tenders, marking a significant step forward in a matter that had had a significant economic and reputational impact.

The article explains the revocation of the anti-mafia ban well, but doesn't provide much clarity on the reasons why the court decided to accept the defense's arguments. It would be interesting to learn more about the evidence presented by the lawyers.
