An 18-year-old Moroccan man with a criminal record was arrested last night by the State Police for robbery, assault, and resisting arrest. The young man targeted a tourist in the historic center, one of the city's busiest areas.
The Flying Squad's Hawks, engaged in control services, noticed the boy as he was cautiously following two tourists on Corso Umberto I. After approaching one of them, he violently pushed him, snatching the cell phone from his hands and immediately fleeing.
The officers chased the robber through the city center until they caught up with him and apprehended him on Via della Maddalena. The arrest was not without difficulty, given the young man's resistance. The 18-year-old is now at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
