Aurelio De Laurentiis is considering securing Antonio Conte with a long-term contract extension. According to rumors circulating in circles close to Napoli, the president is ready to soon present a proposal to extend the coach's current contract, extending it from 2027 to 2029.
The club wants to move ahead of the upcoming seasons, strengthened by a calm internal climate restored after the Italian Super Cup victory in Riyadh. In the hours following the victory, De Laurentiis publicly reiterated his confidence in the coach, responding to reporters with a phrase that sounded like a confirmation of the club's position: "Why, did you have doubts about him?"
However, one key point remains: Conte's willingness to commit to the project long-term. The coach's recent history has often been marked by short-term tenures, with the exception of his time at Juventus (2011-2014). For this very reason, the club is waiting to understand the coach's true intentions before turning the idea into a definitive agreement.
On the pitch, meanwhile, Napoli has found consistency in results and identity even in a season marred by difficulties and absences. In the Super Cup final, Conte managed the emergency without several key players, confirming a pragmatic approach and the ability to adapt the structure and solutions to the current circumstances.
The club considers Conte a key technical figure in the project and is considering a multi-year extension as a stability move. The final decision, however, will depend on the coach's response and the sporting guarantees both parties wish to establish for the future.

It's interesting to see how De Laurentiis plans to secure Conte, but I think the coach's intentions are also important. If he's not convinced, a renewal might be pointless and lead to future problems.
