Giugliano The shadow of drug dealing continues to loom over the towns and cities of the Neapolitan province, but with one factor that is causing increasing concern among law enforcement: the growing involvement of new faces, completely without criminal records and above suspicion.

The latest incident occurred in the Varcaturo district of Giugliano in Campania, where Carabinieri officers from the local station made yet another arrest, confirming an alarming trend.

The protagonist of the case is a 23-year-old Italian man, previously unknown to the judicial press and apparently in good standing. However, the police's intuition and intensified patrols left no room for doubt. The unusual comings and goings on Via Staffetta had already raised suspicions among patrols, prompting the Carabinieri to investigate the situation further with a house search.

The loot of the "pusher next door"

The findings at the 23-year-old's home confirmed these fears. Hidden inside the house, officers found and seized four blocks of marijuana weighing a total of 400 grams. In addition to the narcotics, they also seized €160 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity, and, most importantly, the packaging materials: 100 cellophane bags, unequivocal evidence that the drugs were intended for retail sale.

The young man, now awaiting trial, will have to answer for possession of narcotics with intent to deal.

The alarm from the provincial command

What makes this arrest particularly significant is the context in which it occurs. The Varcaturo operation is not, in fact, an isolated case. As emphasized by the Carabinieri of the Naples Provincial Command, the 23-year-old's arrest is the tenth in just two months. pusher with no criminal record blocked between the capital and the province.

This data paints a complex picture: drug dealing is no longer the exclusive preserve of organized crime or individuals already known to law enforcement. More and more "newcomers," attracted by easy earnings, are deciding to engage in criminal activity, under the illusion that their clean criminal records will allow them to remain anonymous.

The Carabinieri, however, are determined to dismantle this emerging network, focusing their investigations also on those movements that, although apparently harmless, conceal an illegal business.
