Trentola Ducenta – A high-voltage chase ended with the arrest of two young criminals, caught in possession of balaclavas and burglary tools. The operation, conducted yesterday afternoon by Carabinieri officers from the Trentola Ducenta station, resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old man from Villaricca and a 21-year-old man from Giugliano in Campania.
It all began during a patrol aimed at combating car thefts in the Trentola Ducenta countryside. Officers noticed a Fiat Panda that, upon seeing the patrol, suddenly accelerated in an attempt to evade detection. This led to a prolonged pursuit through the local streets, ending in the nearby town of Villa di Briano, where the vehicle became trapped on a closed road.
Not even the car's blockade stopped the two occupants, who attempted a desperate escape on foot. However, the Carabinieri caught up with them after a brief struggle and managed to subdue them. A search of the vehicle confirmed the investigators' suspicions: inside, they found two balaclavas and several burglary tools, typically used in car thefts.
The Fiat Panda was seized and handed over to an authorized company. The two young men, arrested for resisting a public officer, were placed under house arrest pending trial.
