Naples - For the fifth consecutive year, a milestone that until a few years ago was considered unthinkable, the Giro d'Italia will stop in Naples. The 109th edition of the Giro d'Italia will meet again on May 14th.
The spotlight will shine on a breathtaking circuit that will touch the iconic neighborhoods of Bagnoli, the panoramic hill of Posillipo and the enchanting Lungomare.
The Giro-America's Cup axis: the gulf at the center of the world
The Naples stage will be a two-pronged event: not just a sporting event, but a truly global campaign. In Bagnoli, the riders will symbolically bid farewell to the America's Cup, the world's oldest surviving sporting competition. This combination of excellence elevates Naples to the center of international attention, with an estimated potential audience of 750 million viewers from 200 countries across five continents.
The mayor of the metropolitan city, Gaetano Manfredi, enthusiastically celebrated this continuity: "Naples is becoming increasingly central to the Mediterranean. And it shows in every field: with the America's Cup, with its title of European Capital, with the Giro d'Italia. The love story between Naples and the Giro d'Italia is one that continues."
Manfredi emphasized the crucial role of Neapolitan institutions, described by the organizers as "serious and passionate partners," and reiterated the event's tourism value: "The Giro is a powerful tool for promoting the region.

Next year, the impact will be even greater with the Giro d'Italia and America's Cup double-header. Naples has returned to its rightful place.
Urbano Cairo, president of RCS Group, also reiterated his affection for the city during the presentation ceremony in Rome: "We are passionate about Naples; it's a very welcoming city. There will be lots of people lining the streets, and it will be a great celebration." Cairo described the passage through Bagnoli, where the America's Cup construction site will be located, as "a further element in making the Naples stage an iconic one."
Finally, the president received thanks from Mayor Manfredi, also in his capacity as president of the National Association of Italian Municipalities (ANCI), for his "invaluable work as an ambassador to the world of the extraordinary heritage of beauty and culture of municipalities throughout Italy."
The show circuit: Posillipo and the sprint along the seafront
Beyond the Bagnoli hub, the route designed for stage 14 promises unforgettable views. Cyclists will tackle the panoramic climbs of Posillipo Hill, skirting the charming village of Marechiaro and the Coroglio area. Descending from the heights, the convoy will arrive in Mergellina, where the sprint will enter its climax. It will be on the famous Lungomare Caracciolo that the sprinters will battle for the overall victory, with the majestic backdrop of Castel dell'Ovo providing the backdrop for a highly anticipated sprint.
