Casavatore – In celebration of the promotion and protection of children's rights, the event "Walking for the Right to Peace" took place this morning. The event, dedicated to children's rights, aimed at raising community awareness of the importance of protecting, respecting, and promoting the fundamental rights of minors in places affected by wartime destruction. The initiative was initiated by Democratic Party Councilor Elsa Picaro.

The initiative was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Social Policy Offices, as well as Social Workers Dr. Maccioni and Dr. Molino, supported by the Councilor for Social Policy, Attorney Vincenza Esposito, and the Office of Culture, Public Education, Sport, and Folklore, which recalled the principles enshrined in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and Adolescent.

Particular attention was therefore paid to the rights of minors in conflict contexts, to the protection of children from all forms of violence and exploitation, and to the promotion of solidarity.

"We celebrated peace with the schools with songs and posters, to reflect together on the importance of rights and solidarity with all peoples," said Councilor Elsa Picaro. "The Municipality of Casavatore, with a specific resolution last November, requested recognition of the State of Palestine and the right to peace. We thank the municipal police, the Carabinieri, and the Civil Protection Department for the success of the march."

The event highlighted the importance of ensuring every child a safe and peaceful environment, free from the effects of war. Thanks to the participation of the Nicola Romeo and Antonio De Curtis primary school groups, the event offered an important moment of reflection and discussion, with the active participation of the children, who contributed with signs and chants to convey their message of peace.

Various guests were also present, including the young emerging singer Carolina Comite and the parish priest of Caponetto. The event also raised awareness and stimulated a shared commitment among institutions, families, schools, and communities to ensure that children's rights are fully recognized and guaranteed, promoting a culture of peace.
