A Carabinieri reconnaissance flight has uncovered one of the most sensational illegal constructions in recent months on the island of Ischia. The Carabinieri helicopter, flying over the Punta Imperatore promontory, spotted a building under construction in an area subject to landscape and seismic restrictions, a zone where any development requires stringent permits.
The report was immediately forwarded to the Forio station patrol, which responded to the scene. The officers documented the presence of structures already well underway: a perimeter wall, a brick outdoor kitchen, a basement, a stairway system, a parking lot, and a storage room. The entire complex was seized.
The owner, a 33-year-old, was reported for starting construction without a building permit in a valuable area protected by urban planning and environmental regulations. The case refocuses attention on the ongoing development pressure that continues to affect the island's most vulnerable areas, where land protection is considered essential for safety and the preservation of the landscape.
