Maddaloni – The fury of a 63-year-old man from Maddaloni, arrested by the Carabinieri on serious charges of assault and stalking, did not even stop on Christmas Day.
What was supposed to be a moment of serenity turned into a nightmare for the man's ex-wife, who was brutally attacked in their home late on the morning of December 25.
The break-in and the violence. According to the reconstruction carried out by the Carabinieri, the man showed up at the woman's home shortly before noon. After picking up a brick, he smashed the kitchen window and forced his way into the apartment. Once inside, he attacked his ex-partner, repeatedly slapping her in the face and head.
A nightmare already reported. The Christmas episode appears to be just the latest chapter in a long series of harassment. The victim had already filed a complaint against the man for previous stalking, outlining a pattern of long-standing stalking.
The Carabinieri intervened. The alarm was raised immediately thanks to a report to the emergency number. The Carabinieri, who arrived on the scene within minutes, were able to apprehend the 63-year-old before the situation could escalate further.
The woman, visibly shaken and in shock, was immediately treated by medical personnel. Despite the violence of the blows, she did not require hospitalization, but the psychological wound remains profound on a day that should have been a completely different celebration.
The man is now at the disposal of the judicial authorities, while investigators remain focused on protecting the victim, who has too often ended up in the crosshairs of her tormentor.
