At dawn today, Wednesday, December 10, while the cities were still asleep, a large-scale anti-drug operation began involving three provinces: Salerno, Naples, and Avellino.

The raid was coordinated by the Salerno District Anti-Mafia Directorate, which, on the orders of the investigating judge, mobilized hundreds of Carabinieri from the Investigative Unit, supported by soldiers from the territorial units, two teams from the First Response Units, the 7th Helicopter Unit from Pontecagnano, and the Sarno dog units.

The objective: to execute personal and real precautionary measures against a dense network of suspects accused, to varying degrees, of criminal conspiracy aimed at drug trafficking, particularly cocaine and crack.

Twenty people were affected by the order, but the number of suspects is much higher: according to investigators, the network managed a massive flow of drugs destined for the most popular drug dealing areas, especially among young people and others.

The raid, launched in unison at all sensitive locations, caught the alleged organization still in full swing. The searches are ongoing and could lead to further developments in the coming hours.
