Naples - A major anti-drug operation was conducted by the Carabinieri, supported by the Sarno Dog Unit, in the Via Galimberti neighborhood. The operation resulted in both a charge of possession with intent to sell and the discovery of a large quantity of narcotics hidden in a dilapidated building.
The raid initially focused on Lotto K on Via Galimberti. Here, officers searched the home of a 42-year-old man. Canine units, crucial in identifying narcotics, enabled the Carabinieri to find the drugs hidden both inside the apartment and in the man's private courtyard.
The results of the search against him were:
Hashish: 16 grams
Cocaine: 8 grams
Cutting agent: several grams, which suggests that doses were prepared for sale.
The 42-year-old was immediately reported at large on charges of possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.
The massive seizure of 14 kilos
The operation had a much more significant impact nearby. During extensive searches and checks in the area, the Carabinieri focused their attention on an illegal establishment located on Via Galimberti, at number 582.
Inside the structure, probably used as a warehouse by a criminal network, an exceptional seizure was made:
141 blocks of hashish were found and seized.
The total weight of the drug amounts to 14 kilos.
The drugs were seized from unknown persons, and investigations are now underway to identify those responsible for the massive trafficking and to determine who had access to the illegal premises used as a drug "warehouse."
