A new drug trafficking bust was carried out on the evening of Sunday, December 14, by Carabinieri officers from the Mondragone Territorial Unit, who were intensifying their patrols across the area. The operation focused on the Pescopagano neighborhood, an area long under observation for incidents related to crime and drug dealing.
During a patrol, officers noticed a 24-year-old local man, already known to law enforcement and under house arrest, outside his home. Upon seeing the patrol, the young man exhibited suspicious behavior, rushing back into the house in a clear attempt to evade detection.
During the maneuver, the boy attempted to get rid of a purse, throwing it over the house's perimeter wall. This act did not go unnoticed by the Carabinieri, who immediately recovered the item and checked its contents. Inside, they found numerous packages of cocaine and hashish, weighing a significant amount, as well as a precision electronic scale, two cell phones with SIM cards, and €950 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
The material was seized, and the 24-year-old was arrested in flagrante delicto for possession of narcotics with intent to distribute. After the usual formalities, the man was taken to the Carabinieri holding cells and remained at the disposal of the judicial authorities, who were immediately informed of the outcome of the operation.

It's important that law enforcement continue to carry out checks, especially in areas where drug dealing is a problem. It's strange that the boy was out while under house arrest; this suggests a poorly functioning control system.
