Naples is preparing to welcome the Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympic flame, which will cross the city tomorrow afternoon in a highly symbolic relay. Among the torchbearers will be Prince Charles of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, nine-time world sailing champion in the Smeralda 888 class, who will carry the torch in one of the most anticipated moments of the day.
The relay will begin at 5:00 PM and will connect the outskirts of the city to the historic center, tracing a path that speaks of identity, sport, and redemption. Prince Charles of Bourbon will depart around 6:26 PM from Corso Umberto I, at number 135, following a route that will begin in Scampia, the location of the gym where Olympic gold medalist Pino Maddaloni, also among the torchbearers, grew up.
The torch will pass through symbolic locations around the city until reaching Piazza del Plebiscito, where the closing ceremony will begin at 7:30 pm, with the participation of officials, athletes, and residents. Along with Maddaloni and Prince Charles of Bourbon, the torch will be carried by Ciro Ferrara, artists The Jackal, Stash of The Kolors, and Raffaella Giugni, secretary general of Marevivo.
Naples is one of the official stops on the Olympic flame's journey, which will remain in Campania from December 21st to 28th, transforming the city into one of the symbolic stages on the road to Milan-Cortina 2026.
