Naples, raid on Borgo Marinari: the fugitive from Scampia, found aboard a boat, ends his fugitive status.

Unavailable since December 2nd for drug-related crimes, the man was located by the Carabinieri through wiretaps and tailing. He was arrested on the pier while attempting to flee in a car with two accomplices.

Naples – His escape ended in the heart of Borgo Marinari, in the shadow of Castel dell'Ovo, far from the high-rises of Scampia where he had escaped arrest almost a month ago.

Carabinieri officers from the Scampia station have placed handcuffs on a man, whose identity has not been released, who has been wanted since December 2nd following a pre-trial detention order for drug possession and dealing.

The operation, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, is the result of a complex investigative effort that combined traditional observation and shadowing methods with sophisticated technical interception. By following the trail left by the fugitive, the officers were able to reconstruct his movements, locating him in the famous Neapolitan seaside village.

The wanted man had taken refuge aboard a boat, perhaps believing the sea would offer him greater protection than dry land. The raid began when the man left the dock: the Carabinieri intercepted him just as he was about to flee in a car waiting for him on the dock. He was accompanied in the vehicle by a man and a woman who apparently helped him with his travels.

It's interesting how the police found the man in the seaside village, but I wonder how he managed to escape for so long. The investigation must have been complicated, and perhaps not all the information was clear.
