Bruno Petrone's smile has become a symbol of hope after a night of violence that shocked Naples. Just days after the attack in the heart of the Chiaia district, the 18-year-old US Angri 1927 player showed his face for the first time from his hospital bed, his face marked by suffering but lit up by a smile that reassured his family, friends, and fans.

"Bruno's smile: a gift for all of us. Our happiness is to see him smile and see him running and playing again, as soon as possible." This is the message posted on social media by the sports club, which shared the photo of the young athlete, hospitalized after being stabbed in the early hours of December 27th on Via Bisignano, amid the bars and crowds of the nightlife.

What was supposed to be a normal party turned into a nightmare. According to investigators' reconstruction, Bruno was surrounded by a group of teenagers following a fight that broke out over trivial matters.

Within moments, the situation escalated: a butterfly knife appeared in the crowd, and the 18-year-old was struck twice, one in the abdomen. The injuries proved to be extremely serious: doctors were forced to remove his spleen to save his life.

The investigating judge left the four minors in prison

Four minors were arrested for that attack: a 15-year-old boy and three 17-year-olds. A few hours after the incident, they turned themselves in, along with a fifth youth, who was charged at large. Today, the investigating judge of the Naples Juvenile Court, following preliminary hearings, confirmed the pre-trial detention of all four.

The boys, represented by their respective lawyers, reportedly confirmed their statements to the Carabinieri, maintaining that the stabbing was not premeditated. This argument, so far, has not convinced the judge. They remain charged with attempted murder aggravated by premeditation and abject and futile motives, in concert. The youngest of the group, the 15-year-old, is also charged with carrying and using a cutting weapon, the butterfly knife, which was subsequently seized.

Meanwhile, Bruno continues his slow recovery. He's still hospitalized, but his condition is improving. A photo of him smiling has gone viral on social media, becoming the face of a city that, once again, is questioning youth violence and the decline of some nightlife.

A smile that today is worth more than a thousand words. And which, for those close to him, represents the first true victory after a near tragedy.

The article is very touching, but I don't understand how something so terrible could happen on a night that was supposed to be a celebration. Let's hope Bruno recovers soon and that justice is served for him and his family.
