Naples — Stabbed in the middle of the night in the "baretti" area of Chiaia, an 18-year-old with no criminal record is admitted to intensive care at San Paolo Hospital after emergency surgery. The attack occurred on Via Bisignano: the boy was reportedly stabbed twice, one to the stomach and one to the left side.
The injured young man is Bruno Petrone, originally from the San Lorenzo Vicaria neighborhood. He is an amateur footballer and midfielder who plays for the Angri Eccellenza team. He grew up in Sorrento, where he also made his Serie C debut last year.
According to ongoing investigations, the incident did not involve a sudden argument, but rather the actions of multiple individuals, who arrived on at least two scooters. This scenario, at this point, leads investigators to consider the possibility of an organized attack, the motive of which is still unclear.

The Carabinieri have interviewed at length the friends who were with the 18-year-old at the time of the attack and are combing through video surveillance footage in the area in an attempt to identify the attackers and reconstruct the sequence of events.
The young man, a resident of the San Lorenzo-Vicaria area and a well-known amateur soccer player, remains in serious condition: his prognosis is guarded. He underwent emergency surgery, which included the removal of his spleen; his prognosis remains guarded, but medical staff are cautiously optimistic as the hours pass.
The episode brings to mind other bloody incidents involving young people in the past, such as the murder of footballer Umberto Catanzaro, the innocent victim of a punitive raid on an acquaintance of his who was in the car with him, organized by a Camorra boss from the Spanish Quarters.
