Naples – Police have intensified patrols in the troubled Porta Capuana area. Yesterday, personnel from the Poggioreale Police Station, along with the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza, conducted an extraordinary territorial checkpoint.
Officers identified 66 people, 21 of whom had criminal records, monitoring potential risks in an area often home to illegal activity. Fifteen vehicles were checked, with one administrative seizure ordered for irregularities and one traffic violation reported on the spot.
The operation is part of a broader urban security strategy aimed at combating urban decay and petty crime in the heart of eastern Naples. Further details on the operation will be released by the Police Headquarters in the coming hours.

It's interesting to see how the police and the Carabinieri are working together in a difficult area. But there are always questions about how much this will actually improve the situation, given that illegal activities are difficult to stop.
