Naples – A weekend of intense activity for the State Police, engaged in extraordinary patrols of the nightlife hotspots and the historic center. The operations, conducted between Piazza Carolina and the Spanish Quarter, resulted in over one hundred people identified and one arrest for evasion.
In Piazza Carolina and surrounding areas, officers from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue thoroughly combed the area, identifying 132 people—33 of whom had criminal records—and inspecting numerous vehicles. The operation is part of an ongoing monitoring plan aimed at ensuring safety in areas with the highest influx of residents and tourists.

The suspicious movement triggered a brief chase, which ended when officers managed to catch up and apprehend the fugitive.
Database checks revealed the motive for the escape attempt: the man, a 59-year-old Neapolitan, was officially under house arrest. Caught away from his home and without authorization, the 59-year-old was arrested again on charges of escape.
