Naples – Two thousand and seventy-two arrests and 7.840 people reported: this is the result of the activity carried out by the Naples Police Headquarters during 2025. It was a busy year on the security front, with officers engaged in extensive surveillance across the territory, with 871.567 people and 287.699 vehicles checked.

Alongside repressive activity, prevention has taken on particular importance, developed through numerous administrative measures issued by Police Chief Maurizio Agricola against individuals deemed socially dangerous.

Among these, the measures adopted to combat violence against women stand out: during the year, 259 warnings were issued for stalking and crimes related to the so-called "red code".

Also as part of prevention efforts, the Police Headquarters issued 328 oral warnings, in addition to the seizure of assets worth approximately €7 million and the confiscation of assets worth approximately €2 million.

In terms of public order and urban security, 321 Daspo (Banning Orders) were issued, prohibiting access to sporting events, and 274 Dacur (Removal Orders) orders for removal from urban areas.

In 2025, in collaboration with the National Anti-Mafia and Anti-Terrorism Directorate and the Naples Public Prosecutor's Office, a decree was also executed to apply the preventive measure provided for by Article 34 of the Anti-Mafia Code against a football club, as part of the investigation into the previous management of Juve Stabia.

Finally, for reasons related to public safety and the prevention of threats to public order, the police commissioner ordered the temporary suspension of licenses for 26 public establishments.

It's interesting to see how many arrests have been made, but I wonder if this actually leads to greater security. Prevention is important, but the measures adopted seem to be few compared to the larger problem of violence.
