The spiral of petty crime in Naples has reached unprecedented levels. Scampia is once again at the center of the crisis, with residents of the private parks on Viale della Resistenza and Via Ghisleri reporting a series of residential burglaries that occurred last Saturday, November 29th, between 18:00 PM and 19:00 PM, a time slot when homes are occupied and frequented by families, the elderly, and children.
Iride and Fulgida parks were the main targets of this latest wave of attacks. The severity of the incidents was documented and recorded by Green-Left Alliance MP Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who received a substantial dossier of photographic and video material from residents.
Uncovered thieves and violence against window frames
The evidence gathered is overwhelming and paints a dramatic picture of domestic security. The images provided clearly show signs of violence used by the criminals: window frames and French windows were forced open and broken into to gain access to the apartments.
Even more alarming are the footage from the condominium's video surveillance systems.

"These visual elements make the situation even more dramatic. We have proof: the thieves are acting with their faces uncovered, during times when parks are busy and homes are inhabited. We are facing a real assault on home security that cannot be ignored," said Congressman Borrelli.
Urgent request to the Government: "The perception of impunity is extremely high."
The collected material was immediately made available to the competent authorities for the identification and arrest of those responsible. However, Borrelli strongly reiterates his urgent request to the Government and the Prefectures of Naples.
"We're facing an unacceptable emergency," Borrelli insists. "If you're no longer safe even in your own home and thieves are entering private parks undisturbed, it means the perception of impunity is very high. We're calling for a special territorial control plan for Scampia and all the neighborhoods that experience daily crime waves. We need more police, less bureaucracy, and zero tolerance for those who terrorize citizens."
Residents, meanwhile, reiterate the importance of sharing images of the thieves on social media to raise awareness and gather further testimonies that could aid the investigation.
