Naples - The Formicola Silenzio clan was hit with a massive drug seizure by officers from the Flying Squad and the local police station. Police seized over 65 kilograms of hashish and marijuana in the Bronx neighborhood of Taverna del Ferro.
The drugs were supposed to supply the clan's drug dealing operations during this Christmas period. This represents a huge financial blow, both in terms of the loss of the shipment and the loss of earnings.
The operation is part of the extraordinary services organized by the Naples Police Headquarters to combat drug trafficking and possession.
During a high-impact operation conducted yesterday, the State Police arrested a 21-year-old Neapolitan man, already known to law enforcement, who was held responsible for the illegal possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing.
The operation was carried out by officers from the San Giovanni-Barra Police Station, with the support of a drug-detection canine unit from the Office of General Prevention and Public Rescue. The officers conducted a search inside a residence located on Via Alveo Artificiale, where they discovered a veritable cache of narcotics.

The officers also found a knife with a blade dipped in narcotics and 50 euros in cash, divided into banknotes of various denominations, believed to be the proceeds of drug dealing.
In light of the evidence gathered, the young man was arrested by the operating personnel.
The operation didn't stop at the 21-year-old's home. During searches extended to other buildings in the same area, officers found, also carefully hidden, numerous blocks of hashish weighing approximately 65 kilograms, as well as a package containing cocaine weighing 41 grams. The large quantity of drugs was seized from unknown persons.
The operation is part of a broader territorial control plan implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters to target drug dealing hubs and distribution networks in the city's neighborhoods.
