NAPLES – The commitment to a safer city extends from classrooms to the streets. The City of Naples is launching two complementary initiatives aimed at reducing accidents and fostering a culture of responsibility. The communications campaign "Take care of it! Miracles aren't needed on the streets" is taking shape. The educational project "Safety... for life!" is returning, following last year's success in middle schools and now extends to 25 secondary schools across the city.

The campaign's official launch is scheduled for tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. at the San Giovanni Bosco Comprehensive School on Via Angelo Camillo De Meis. Councilor for Education and Families, Maura Striano, and Councilor for Legality, Antonio De Iesu, will be present and participate in one of the training sessions. The initiative is promoted by the ASD Gruppo Sportivo della Polizia Municipale (Municipal Police Sports Group) together with the Departments of Legality and Education, with a clear goal: to empower young people to lead a cultural change that affects everyone.

"Miracles aren't needed on the road. We need attention": the campaign slogan captures an often overlooked reality. Ninety percent of accidents are caused by distraction, failure to follow the rules, and carelessness. Speeding and cell phone use remain among the leading causes, while risky behaviors related to alcohol, drugs, and inattention continue to have a dramatic impact.

Alongside educational initiatives, the administration is also taking action locally. Resurfacing pedestrian crossings and creating new safe crossings are the operational front of a plan aimed at redesigning urban mobility. This approach combines prevention, monitoring, and training, aiming to reverse a statistic that weighs on urban life every day.
