NAPLES – The State Police's offensive against drug trafficking in the heart of Naples continues. Over the past 24 hours, officers from the Police Headquarters have completed two separate operations in the Vicaria area, as part of an extraordinary territorial patrol operation that led to the arrest of two drug dealers.

The fight at Porta Nolana. The first intervention took place in Vico Pergola, near Porta Nolana. Officers from the Vicaria-Mercato police station caught a 43-year-old Tunisian man exchanging drugs for cash. Upon seeing the uniforms, the man attempted to resist. A brief but tense struggle ensued, after which the officers managed to subdue him. The search uncovered a substantial haul of drugs: 300 grams of hashish and a package containing approximately 3 grams of cocaine.

The raid in Piazza Capuana. Shortly thereafter, the police's attention shifted to Piazza Capuana. Here, in a nearly identical fashion, a 59-year-old Neapolitan man got into trouble. He was apprehended immediately after completing a "money for drugs" exchange with a buyer. In his pockets, the police found three bags of marijuana, weighing 25 grams, and €30 in cash, believed to be the proceeds of the recently committed illegal activity.

Both were arrested on charges of illegal possession of narcotics. The operation is part of a broader monitoring plan implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters to clear drug dealing areas in the historic center and restore safety to residents.
