Naples - The State Police have dealt a severe blow to organized crime and drug dealing in the Pianura neighborhood. A large-scale and targeted operation, conducted by members of the Flying Squad and the local police station, led to the discovery and seizure of a veritable arsenal and significant quantities of narcotics, in what appears to be a strategic move to control the area.
During numerous searches, carried out as part of an enhanced security measure implemented by the Naples Police Headquarters, the officers found:
Two loaded pistols: One 8mm, with two rounds of ammunition, and one 7.65mm, with seven rounds in the magazine.
A 12-gauge shotgun.
A bulletproof vest, a sign of the dangerousness and logistical preparation of the criminal group targeted by the operation.
Drugs ready for sale: Approximately 80 grams of hashish and 22 grams of marijuana.
The intervention is part of a broader plan to prevent and repress crimes involving weapons and drugs.
The primary objective of the operation is to strengthen law enforcement presence in the area and ensure greater safety for residents by combating illegal activities that threaten the neighborhood's social fabric. Investigations are ongoing to identify the owners of the seized material and trace the drug dealing locations supplied.
The weapons have been sent to the police forensic department, which will determine whether they were used in recent bloodshed, shootings, or attacks.
