Naples – Tragedy struck this morning in the heart of the city, just steps from Piazza del Plebiscito. A man lost his life after jumping from the balcony on Via Cesario Console, overlooking Via Acton, one of the busiest areas of the city's waterfront.
The alarm was raised in the early hours of the day. Emergency medical services arrived on the scene and attempted to provide first aid to the man, but were unable to do anything but pronounce him dead due to the serious injuries sustained in the fall.

Naples Local Police officers were also present and began an investigation to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the incident and secure the area. The area was temporarily cordoned off to allow for surveys and facilitate law enforcement operations.

This morning's news is very sad. I don't understand how a man could do something like this. The authorities must do more to prevent similar incidents. They're things that leave you speechless and make you think about life.
